Default Avid Virtual Instruments Not Working [RESOLVED]

When loading any Avid Virtual Instrument (expand,DB33, Boom etc.) in Pro Tools 10.3.8 on my MacBook Pro I get the error message: "Required software extensions are missing." And then gives me the option to transfer to the Pace website to download the installer.

It would also give me the DAE Error 7054, but after searching these forums I realized a possible solution would be to download the Avid Virtual Instruments and re-install them. I assume what changed this was my upgrade to 10.3.8 for the co-install of PT11, because I had no issues with this prior.

This didn't solve my issue. Still offering to send me to the Pace website, which when I go to it, it gives me an error 404 page.

I also tried trashing my databases and prefs. and all that did was give me the same Pace error for all my AIR plugins.

Try this:
  1. quit all open applications
  2. launch Disk Utility
  3. select your system volume
  4. repair permissions
  5. quit Disk Utility, and reboot

I repaired disk permissions and I'm still in the same boat. Nothing changed after that.

Well, after much troubleshooting, forum reading, trashing databases and prefs, reinstalling the instruments all together, repairing disk permissions and all to no avail, I finally broke down and summoned Pro Tools wizard, the infamous Phil Nichols, for him to not only Immediately solve the problem, but to do so on his first attempt with 1 single sentence:

"Have you already tried re-downloading and reinstalling the iLok License Manager from iLok.com?"


...Problem Solved.
