Default Narration audio while looking at a video

Hello All,
I have a client who wants to record a 20 minute narration track to a video.
I've recorded countless numbers of voice-overs but never where the talent had to watch a video. I tried an experiment by importing an .avi file into my Pro Tools 10 session (NON-HD or Native) using the Import Video function. It came up on a track but when I hit play, it did not move. So I assumed I needed to do something else. Then under Window or Options, I found VIDEO in the list. When I selected it, the actual moving video came up which I could move anywhere on my screen. I assume that the narrator would watch the video and speak the narration. But what about when it's time to export out. How does the narration audio and the video remain IN SYNC when the session is over.
Looking for help and advice. Thanks.

Use MPEG streamclip to convert the avi to a .mov with compatible codec. When recording and editing are complete, bounce to QuickTime to export the audio and video.
