Default Delay Compensation on a track with no other tracks in the session.

Hello,

Just out of curiosity - why is it that if I bus a track to any bus, without setting a return path for it and without having any other tracks in the session does protools delay compensate the 1 track???

By setting a return path the compensation goes back to 0, this isn't really a major issue, I just want to understand what ADC is trying to do here.

Here is a pic:

Thanks in advance,

Without a return path delay comp can’t possibly work correctly. So who cares what it does in some impossible corner case. Nothing to see here, move on...

This. ^^

It's like asking how long a piece of rope is when you can't access the other end.

What you mean it can't correctly calculate delay into a black hole how did that not get on ideascale

I don't think it's as silly a question as some unkindly people on here are making it out to be. The compensation really should be on 0, it shouldn't be doing anything until an output is assigned.
