MC524 Alternatives?
Anyone know of an alternative to using the MC524 with the S5 without losing any functionality? I would use digital monitoring but I'd like to keep all the functionality that the MC524 has if possible. It seems the blue XMON is not an option so maybe the S6 XMON or Trinnov D-Mon or something? I can't seem to find any info on this online so any help would be much appreciated.

Re: MC524 Alternatives?
Hi audiobee,
I'm not an expert on the MC524, but I think our DAD AX32 and Pro Mon solution could be an option for you. You can read more about it here: http://www.digitalaudio.dk/page1821.aspx. The link shows how it's used with the S6, but it also works without an S6. Some use it with 5MC's, others with the Pro Tools Control app for iPad and then there's a few other control options as well, including some stuff in our pipeline. If you want more information then please drop me an e-mail on jan.lykke (at) ntp.dk. Thanks, Jan Lykke

Re: MC524 Alternatives?
Have a look at the DAD units. However I think that it is a big investment when you can use the digital monitor of the S5.

The MC524 is well designed and works. What I did though is use a separate MADI output to drive it so the unused outputs on the 703 are available for other functions. |
