Default What are you still doing with the mouse?

I really like my D Command but for some things the mouse seems to just be quicker/better. Assigning inserts seems to be one of those things. I will try to force myself to only use the desk for a while to see if it's just that I need to get better at it, but it seems no matter how much I practice, mousing is easier/faster. Making my most used stuff Favorites does help some with them at the top of the list though.

What would you add to this list?

Good Post.

I'm good with just about everything on both the D-Control and D-Command except for the FADERS. I really don't trust the fader once I make a fader-move. I'm never really sure where the fader will end up once I take my finger off the fader. I have to many many bad experience with "fighting Faders" and faders snapping to some odd position.

Therefore, Back to your Question: "what am I doing with the mouse?".....my $49.99 mouse assists in 95% of my mixes.

Well, that sucks and it certainly shouldn't be that way. If mine were like that, I'd send it back!!!!

Same here. If I couldn't trust the faders I may as well not even use the console!

They certainly seem to need a recal more often than I would have thought. Often two faders that are supposed to be at 0 seem too far apart for my liking, but a recal always sorts this out.

Perhaps we'll soon get a fader touch sensitivity preference? Or a human electro-conductivity preference? Body-fat mass resistance index preference?

I still mouse my plug-in inserts. So there!

All the mixers I know using Icon including myself still do our initial channel routing setups using the screen. It's easier to get a full overview of what's happening. With a 23" Cinema display, you can see about 48 channels at a time in narrow fader view and it's easy to scroll back and forth through the session to see everything.
