Default Pro tools essential blue screen?!

Hi everyone,

I got the Pro Tools Recording Studio today (pro tools essential & M-Audio fast track)! I installed everything like the manual told me to and downloaded the latest drivers for the fast track!

Every time i start up Pro Tools, it loads until it gets to 'creating dae objects' and then it just blue screens my PC! i have been trying to work this out all day but with no luck! My PC has all the requirements and I've even changed where i keep my VST's as I've heard this can cause problems!

If anyone could help in any way, I'd very much appreciate it!

Hi Oliver,

Were you ever able to figure this issue out? I am running Pro Tools SE 8.03 on Windows XP SP3 and have been having the exact same issue. I read somewhere that deleting the DAE preferences was the fix but I haven't been able to find a 'preferences' file or folder.

I recently moved all DAE-related files out of the Pro Tools folder (onto a removable USB drive) and tried to run Pro Tools that way. That didn't fix matters at all. Still crashed when it got to the 'Creating DAE Objects' portion of start-up.

Extremely frustrated!! I'm very curious if you have found a fix to this problem.

Thanks,
Ed

Nobody can offer much help without knowing the exact version of PT and the exact version of OS you are running
