Default Recommended ethernet switch for Artist and Dock Connection

Just got the Mix and just ordered the Dock - is there a standard, reliable ethernet switch to connect these units to my Mac you would recommend. I will only use it for connecting these units.

I hope I understood you correctly.
Any 1gb router will do.

A router is different from a switch. A 1GB switch would do also and may be cheaper.

Thanks for guidance - one 1gb switch (D-Link because it is small) is on its way.

Question - my iPad with Control app currently on its own with no Dock works without WiFi and iPad is powered by just connecting lightning cable to USB port on my MacBook Pro running Logic. Apparently the usb lightning cable is doing data and power.

So it does not seem necessary to get the camera kit and Ethernet adaptor for iPad or use WiFi when I get my Dock- am I missing something?

If its working then thats OK, it should continue once you connect the other surfaces.

Ok I will confirm once I receive and install the Dock on Monday.

But are you surprised that iPad Control works with straight lightening to usb on Mac and no Wifi or ethernet? I see nothing about this in the manual - just wifi or ethernet adaptor/camera kit recommendation.
