PT upgrades from PT 9 student.
Hi all. A few years ago I owned Pro Tools 8 and purchased a student priced crossgrade to PT9.
I read in this thread that I'm entitled to further upgrades to PT10, and I guess by default 11. The product description of what I bought confirms this, but the retailer isn't interested. Can anyone help or put me in touch with avid? Needless to say, download links/entitlements don't show up in my account, and I never got an email about upgrades. Thank you in advance. If it helps, this is what I bought.
http://imsproav.com/wp/2011/01/pro-tools-9-academic/ (description says "4 years free upgrades") The retailer says he wont honour it because "avid move the goalposts too often"?? Hi, when you bought it, you should have had to send verification from your school that you were an active student. Then within 24-48 hours, Avid would send you an email about paying and downloading the software. Then the download should be listed in your Avid account as a student version. Did you go through any of this when you bought it?

Hi Chris.
Yes, I went through all of that, received my code, registered the software and now it shows in my avid account. I was able to get in contact with avid today and they confirmed that their systems show no PT9 license in my account. I was asked to submit evidence so I mailed them my proof of purchase, verification code, and a screen dump of my avid account where PT9 is listed. Hopefully that'll sort it out. I'll post back here to let people know. Thanks for the reply. |
