MBOX 3 Not Working - Blue Flashing Power Light
Hello I just bought the MBOX 3 to use with Reaper, followed all the instructions and just get a flashing blue LED with Pro Tools LE saying 'please connect your hardware' and Reaper also getting an ASIO driver error.
I am using a Quadcore with XP Service Pack 2. I downloaded the Mbox Drivers v1.0.19 but that says 'This version of windows is not supported'. Many thanks in advance |

Re: MBOX 3 Not Working - Blue Flashing Power Light
Before I upgrade to Windows 7 I'd like to ask a quick question - is the flashing blue power light indicative of using the wrong OS or is there a problem with the power i.e. the MBOX cannot draw enough from my USB port/ something internally wrong with the MBOX. Someone on the net did say that their older Macbook couldn't provide the juice - I'm using a two year old Quadcore so I'd assume that would work ok.
I don't want to go through the major upheaval of a new OS with all the software re-installs to find there's still a problem. Thanks again |

Re: MBOX 3 Not Working - Blue Flashing Power Light
Imran5000: Usually a flashing blue light is an indication of a clock problem but until you get the drivers running properly you can't be sure.
I note that you are on service pack 2. I have successfully run a Mixbox 3 & a Mixbox 3 Pro on Windows XP with service pack 3. The upgrade to SP3 is free but be prepared----it does take quite a while & you will probably find that there are quite a large number of updates to do after you install SP 3. IHTH

Re: MBOX 3 Not Working - Blue Flashing Power Light
Thanks for that Pinball Wizard. To be honest I returned it and swapped it for an RME Babyface. It's a shame because I've heard soundwise the MBOX 3 is slightly better - in terms of functionality/ looks etc it's way better so I wish I had a Windows 7 system up and running.
I do think it's a bit of an oversight not to have it run on XP though, there must be a few sales lost for people with slightly older set ups. |

Re: MBOX 3 Not Working - Blue Flashing Power Light
I also have the blue light flashing each time I close/open the MacBook with Pro Tools on, but restart of the system solves the problem (not standard system restart, complete system OFF then ON again), I hope that helps to some
