the last official driver for ixmicro dual monitor card is version 2.00.16 and it's only stable up to os 8.6. it acts strangely on os 9.xx. have one installed on my 9600 w/ newertech g4/350 card, had installed os 9.04 but went back to os 8.6 because the driver is not stable at all.

IX Micro Dual Monitor Card?

What model is that? I know they have a card with two monitor connectors. . .one for the Mac and the smaller one for the PC, but they are just parrallel jacks and do not have independant video.

I have two IX Micro video cards in my 9600 w/xlr8/G3/400 Mhz and I am about to upgrade to OS 9 and ProTools v5.01 (from OS 8.6 and PT v5.00). Are there any issues I need to know about before I do so?

I've got an IX Dual Monitor card with 9.04 on my 9600 with no problems. I'm using the latest drivers for it. I run it in mirror mode and dual mode without issue. They're not the fastest graphics accelerators around but they do the job. I also ran into a bug when using the driver extensions while running Logic. Since I've bagged Logic the bug doesn't bug me anymore. I've seen them offered in the back of MacAddict magazine for $99. The company went belly up just after I got my card, the $99 jobs must be old stock. A good deal nonetheless.

I've got the ixmicro dual monitor card on my 9600/350 upgraded with the Newer G3 500/250 running PT 5.01 and OS 8.6

The only problem I have with the card is that I am running two 15" apple flat panel displays, and when I open up the Monitors and Sound control panel, only one of my monitors is recognized as a flat panel, the other one is seen as a Studio Display, so I don't have access to the flat panel functions on both monitors, just the one. Anyone experience this or have a fix for this?

Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey Karen,

I've got 2 15" Apple Flat Panels as well and I've got the same problem as you. I've also noticed that on my system making an adjustment to the one panel through the software affects the other as well. I turned off the Applevision extension and make all adjustments at the monitors themselves.

I have the same problem with an IxMicro card single monitor card I added to my beige G3. One of the monitors is recognized just fine (they're Viewsonic trinitrons), but the other is seen as a generic display and I'm unable to bump its resolution or refresh rate up far enough. Annoying to say the least! If anyone has any insight into this, please post. I will be eternally grateful.
