Default Liquidsonics 2.0 released

For any of you Liquidsonics IR users, they just released version 2.0. It looks like it some really great enhancements with something they call "Fusion IR".
Quote:
Fusion-IR processing captures the evolving character of an algorithmic reverb using multiple true-stereo reverb streams that are processed simultaneously. The inputs to the convolution streams are modulated and the outputs fused into a rich, captivating space that mixes effortlessly with your music without sacrificing the editing precision, visual feedback and flexibility of a convolution based product.
It is AAX among other formats.

My understanding is that the fusion IR's are a different capturing method and layer IR's. It's to eliminate the "sterile" feeling you can get from ir's without modulation.

From the description of it, that seems to be the gist of it. I suspect it'll sound really great!

Hopefully all our old IR's will work and how will they sound in the new version?

BTW at the current conversion rate it's $54 US.

All previous IR formats work fine and they sound the same. The difference is in the actual IR's, not the playback device.

Hi yes all of the current IRs are going to sound the same. The Fusion-IR tech is an additional convolution engine rather than an upgrade to the old one that switches in when an FIR is loaded.

The point of this is that rather than taking an IR with the swept-sine technique that averages away all the modulation of an impulse response, we take multiple snapshots and modulate across them all slowly at random. Since an algorithmic reverb is always changing the tap lengths to get modulation, if we take different snapshots of it and modulate across them we can recreate some of the variability. The result is a much better blend with the original source, not so stuck-on-top sounding. More lively, more organic, and much closer to the original.

I'm providing a free Bricasti M7 library to showcase this, and I think it compares really well to the previous gold standard of the Samplicity library. I'd be interested to know what others think.

I hope people like it!

Thank you for that explanation, Matt. I look forward to upgrading to this and trying out the new FIRs.

I have to totally agree. These new IR's sound amazing. They have a natural movement to them that raises the implimintation of IR's up a notch for sure.
