Pro Tools 8 + Rack3 + Yosemite???

Hey guys,

I'm about to buy a Mac Pro with Yosemite installed.
I have Protools 8 with a Rack 3 by Digidesign.

What are my options?

Pro Tools LE 8 is NOT qualified for that OS. At this time Nov. 5th, 2014, no version of Pro Tools is qualified for Yosemite. I do not know when the latest version of Pro Tools (currently 11) will be qualified.

What do you mean by "Rack3"? Is that an 003 Rack?

Your best option is to get in on the limited time, substantially reduced upgrade price for Pro Tools 11

Buy an older Mac Pro (PT8 support stopped at 10.6.8 iirc)

Upgrade PT (literally the best option)

The Mac Pro is a 2006... So quite old but it has Yosemite installed.

I think that I will upgrade to PT11! Or leave PT8 on my PC...

Reformat the HD and install 10.6.8 - but in all honesty you should probably shoot for a 2010 MP and or a 2012 Mac Mini if your looking for the power

Here's the Mac Pro I want to buy :
Mac pro 2006, 8 cores with 2 quad core 2.66ghz, 32gigs of ram, wifi, bluetooth, superdrive, radeon hd4890 for mac, hdd 250gigs. Yosemite installed.
Price : 750$.

Do you think it's a good deal?

So comparing the power of the 2006 vs 2010/2012's it's not even close
