Default Re: Core Audio 1.2 Reason 2.5, Live! don\'t work!

My solution to the core Audio vs. Midi vs. Reason thing for 001's.

If you have the ability to use the alternate inputs on the back of the 001 for the monitor switch function (using a patch bay will work too if you're full), you can use this input from the computers built in audio output.

This way you can monitor with your nice studio monitors with programs like Reason by pressing in the monitor button, and then also have the ability to use a midi device to trigger the devices. Then when you want to use pro tools, just load up PT's and press the monitor button again and now you're using those same monitors for all of that, given that you have it wired up that way. Beware though, you can still get some interference problems with using the built in audio out, but hey ............nothing is perfect.

Default Re: Core Audio 1.2 Reason 2.5, Live! don\'t work!

Yes I'm loving the new toys in Reason 2.5 too. Very nice reverb etc.
However, back to the original post/thread - I _still_ can't get Reason 2.5 or Live! to see the MBox audio out using core audio drivers 1.2 . When I launch Reason I see the multi colored ball wiz around and then the USB light comes on on the MBox but then a faint click and it just switches back to the TiBook 800 audio jack. Same with Live!. There is no MBox option in the audio preferences menu on either program. iTunes and Quicktime however, play audio through the MMbox just fine.
Any clues would be greatly appreciated!!!
thanks
Don

I'm also having the same problem with Reason 2.5 and CoreAudio 1.2. I did the Audio MIDI Setup steps listed in this thread, restarted, and still the Digi001 doesn't appear in the Audio Preferences pane for Reason.

If anyone has any other tips I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Supposedly Rewire2 will be released this year which will allow Reason to seamlessly(?) integrate with Pro Tools. Look for info on the Digi site, it is difficult to find on Propellerhead's site.I suspect it may be a freebie.
Anyone else have info on this. I haven't used my Reason 2.5 yet but the new modules look cool. Any comments on it out there?

Aaron.........if you were using the Coreaudio driver you must get rid of it and put back the digi001midi driver file back in the correct folder. JUST DUMP THE CORE AUDIO COMPLETELY CAUSE IT SUCKS ANYWAYS!

If you lost the 001midi driver then you might have to reinstall 6.01 and all will be fine.......then go to your AMS set up and get that all squared away. After that you'll be fine, select reason preferences/midi/ and then use 001 for midi i/o.

good luck
