001 - Crash during driver installation.

Ok, im trying to set this up for a friend, here's the system;

Asus P4P800 SE mobo
Pentium 4 3.2ghz
2gb DDR Ram
Digi001
Audigy 2 Soundcard
1 x SATA HDD, 2 x IDE
Windows XP

When installing PT 6.4 it crashes when it gets to the driver installation - the screen locks up and you have to reset. This happens when I try and install the driver using Windows too.

Have tried SP2 and SP1. Also flashed to the latest motherboard bios. Anyone else experienced this? mighty frustrating.

You may want to look at all the steps in the Win XP/ Pro Tools 6.x General Troubleshooting thread, specifically making sure to disable all startup items and services as well as any extraneous hardware.

You'll also need Pro Tools 6.4cs9 for proper compatibility with Service Pack 2.

You'll need 6.4 cs6 AND 6.4 cs9 AND the latest PACE drivers for compatibility with XP SP2.
