Default I give up anytime now

I know there is CPU/FAN problem with PT on laptops and I can deal with it if it was
only when I run PT.BUT I also run SX 3,Vegas 6, Band in a Box 2005 and get the same
100 % speed on cpu and the fan.I don´t even have my 002r connected just the internal soundcard. This is ridicioulus(?)! It more noice than my 3 year old HP with old fans and 2 HD;s.

I uninstalled all of DIGI´s stuff and everything went normal. My laptop is more powerful
than my desktop so I will use that instead but it is impossible with PTLE.
I´m really sorry for this but there must be some alternatives out there that works.
I will see my dealer first thing tomorrow.

Well,well... enough whining.

Peter

What is the power scheme set for the machine? (Control Panel --> Power Options). It probably is set to "Always On" or something like that.

Yes, it is.
This behavior should be interesting for Digidesign beacuse it appears not
only with PT. If I disconnect 002r and run another application and get the
same result it must be some driver from Digi that is causing this.
I´m no expert in anyway I just observe.

You can change the power scheme to "Laptop" or something else that suits your needs. My understanding is that PT would revert the changes it does to power schemes when it quits.

It is annoying if you have to change the power scheme everytime you quit PT, but it is an better alternative than keeping the fan running.

If I change the power scheme I will get less power I guess.
I`ll get rid of PT 002r instead and watch out for another unit tomorrow.
I really don´t know what to use instead that is comparabel to 002r.But I really
want something working on both desk- and laptop.I run SX 3 most of the time so I´m free to use
whatever unit that suits me.
Maybe there is´nt any that works perfect on both but I will for sure check it out.
