Default AMD Vs Intel Dual Cores

I have a Pro Tools LE system with 002 Rack, Reason, Amplitube and several other plugins. I am ready to upgrade to a new PC, but the debate starts with the AMD and Intel processor differences. I have long been an AMD guy, but with the new dual core processors, I'm not sure what to do.
