I agree! I've found work arounds/replacements for all my PA plugins that are not M1 AAX compatible. I check PA's site about once a week to see if there's been any progress with their BX plugins. Whenever I ask, I get a form-letter email back telling me to just run under Scarlett, which I don't do anymore. Oh well.

I perused the PA announcement from August 1, 2023 and the one from May 2023 (which I hadn't seen before) and noted that the Bettermaker EQ appears not to have been listed on either of them. I infer that it is not to be updated to AAX Silicon Native.

I did not make an exhaustive study. That one just popped out for me.

While AAX Silicon Native is not an immediate issue for me, I have stopped buying plugs that may become stranded when I make the (inevitable?) move from Intel.

Plugin Alliance, if you're reading....
I really enjoy most of your products and have bought most of them. Too many of them. While I understand that the "Alliance" aspect of your business model introduces some degree of "herding cats" problems, I have to say that I'm frankly disappointed with the extended timeframe you've exhibited for the AAX Silicon Native transition. I feel that you should be obliged to state for the record which products will NOT be on the AAX Silicon Native update list as expeditiously as possible, certainly before the end of August 2023.

I second this. Thank you.

Absolutely. I've had several unsatisfying exchanges with PA regarding Apple Silicon. There's a few plugins that I will need to replace soon if the developers can't get their collective acts together, it's an annoyance.

I do sympathize with the herding cats situation though and perhaps Izotope is in a similar situation with Exponential Audio. It must be frustrating to disappoint so many customers this way. But they chose that business model and in my (completely ignorant of software development) opinion, they need to make an investment into their products and get the job done.

Sorry I know this is kinda off topic but related.
From Izotope's press release:

“By combining forces with iZotope, I know the potential for future innovation is vast,” says Carnes. “I am eager to bring Exponential Audio’s expertise, technology, and values to iZotope, and I’m excited to imagine what we can deliver together for our customers.”

https://www.izotope.com/en/company/p...ial-audio.html

Not exactly how it's worked out from the customer perspective.

Did I miss something or are we still in the same place with PA?

Support for Apple Silicon and Venura doesn't necessarily mean running natively. It could just mean you can work on Rosetta 2.

This confusion is just like the ambiguous HD tv terminologies that could mean either 720 or 1080.

At least they don't talk about PAL/NTSC any longer, nor do we need to mix and master differently for 33 1/3 than 45 rpm. Now both are talking about minimizing encoding losses.
