Default Moving very old session to new glyph

Hi.....I've got an old session (PT 6.something) and I want to get as much of it as I can into the newer Glyph drive.
Can I do it this way and not corrupt the drive on the iMac?
1. unplug new Glyph
2. plug in old ..drag old session to desk top
3. unplug old and plug in new Glyph
4. move session from desk top to new Glyph

I really don't want to corrupt that iMac drive (did that once) will this work?
Tim

I don't see why not! I have done that numerous times with older drives. If you have access to another portable hard drive connected simultaneously and drag to that one you should be ok as well. All that being said, however, what happened when you inadvertently corrupted your iMac the first time?

That may work fine, but I think a better way to do it would be to open the old session and then go to File>Save Session Copy> and then check the box for All Audio Files and choose Wave(especially if this old session has the audio in SD II format) and save this session copy to the new drive

Hey thanks again you guys. You're all so good that my wife is always the one to suggest coming here first. I did wonder about all the files involved in the session. I'm still using my 002 so I can only hook up one Glyph at a time.

One time a session accidentally got saved on to the hard drive of the iMac. Nothing from that point would work right because that session was messing with whatever that drive does. A Sweetwater tech (John) finally took over my computer remotely and cleaned the whole thing up! Nice............I just don't want to do it again.
Once again thanks for your help.
