My bet is that there won't be an MBox 3 Pro (firewire). Instead I bet they just bring out an 004 equivalent towards the lower end of that line or drop the "Mbox Pro" segment altogether and try to bump those folks into the 004 "Native" lineup.

It's too bad they can't just merge the M-Audio/Digi/Euphonix devices and technologies in a span of 6 months and end up with the super amazing awesome end all be all systems we all are clamoring for.

I think there will be one. Something Avid have up it sleeves for the contest that is about $899.99 MSRP. But if it does turn out not to be the Pro, and a 004 instead, at that price, I would have a wet dream .

Personally I am less interested in new hardware and more interested in full functioning Pro Tools software that can be used with the 002/003.

Software is nothing without the hardware, and I'm sure Avid is working on it. They are just having a "Steve Jobs" moment.

Well, the new MBox Pro is out the bag and it can do 192k through firewire. Makes you wonder what is waiting for us in the future don't it!?
