First time user, Pro Tools ii launch error

Hi there,

I just bought, installed and registered Pro Tools 11 student edition. When I double click the Pro Tools icon I get this error message:

"Pro Tools 11 could not be loaded. Please contact the software publisher for support using this software>

Error details:

Import DLL MSVCP100.dll could not be loaded."


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

some addition question:
Have you provided proof that you qualify for the Student license
Has the license been deposited into your iLok account
Have you moved the license from your account to your iLok key

In the iLok license software it shows I have the license, yes. For my computer it lists zero licenses. Could this be the problem? Do I need to transfer or activate the license on my computer?

No, the Pro Tools 11 Bundle license shows on your iLok account as being activated and installed on your iLok 2, so the authorization part is all correct.

You should follow the instructions that Craig F gave, and list all of your system specifications.

Unfortunately, when I follow the video instuctions to click the 'hardware' tab within Sandra and then double click 'computer overview' it generates a blank report.

This is with the free version, Sandra lite.

I could really use some help guys. My new copy of Pro Tools 11 does not start, same problem. I need this for my Berklee online classes. I am trying to give you the report you want, but when I follow the instructions in BernoniStudios' video, Sandra will act like it is generating a report (green circle) and then produce nothing (blank window).

I would even pay for Pro Tools support if it comes down to it, but I can't find an option for Pro Tools 11, just the versions that comes with the M-box or Pro Tools HD.

I honestly don't know what to do. My computer functions fine with Ableton Suite and other DAWs and software.

Please disregard this post as I just spent a couple hours with an Avid tech and he could not fix the error. We think my registry is to blame so I am looking at a reformat or buying a new computer.
