'afternoon fellas,

slow weekend in the Tea Room eh? anything but slow on this end, my bro finally tied the knot on Sat. and we spent all day at the wedding and festivities... Lets just say I made the most of the free bar.... Sunday, was supposed to do another drum session, but the drummer was sick and I re-vamped the song list anyhow so my wife and I spent most of yesterday packing up stuff in the appartment for the move which is about a week off now... I took down all my acoustic baffling and what not in the studio and was freaking out about how much natural 'verb was floating around in there after everything came down... sounds like a great hall in there now.. this week brings more working and packing and what not. Hope everyone is doing cool.

btw... here's a theory... KoldBludded = KB = Killer Boy Dog?!?!?? am I correct??

he he ..Not possible Penguino. That's what my senses arrived at.
Let's just say K_B is the one and only Karel, and kb = the new guy..
Best of luck with the move..

Thanks man Wish I could snap the fingers and have all this stuff done already though... Got a good half of the place to pack up yet atleast... btw... was meaning to ask ya, after you get done with the current projects, you have a moment to lay down some skins on the collab track man? I forget who asked me about it the other day, but I was like oh yeah.. I should ask him about that.. If you guys are backed up with work I understand man and whenever is cool, but I figured I'd ask. peace

Default CUBASE OR M BOX????

hiya fullas and ladies.
i have been working towards setting up my own lil studio. for about 6 months ive been researching, talking and reading about cubase. why cubase? cause i have some mates using it, but they arent musicians...
a friend of mine, not even half an hour ago has shed some light on this m box thingy and it sounds more my type of thing. i am a singer songwriter who wishes to record, edit, produce my music on my laptop. is it true that pro tools is geared towards people like myself?? i was ready to take on cubase although it doesnt seem as straight forward as the m box by pro tools.
i hope someone can tell me the difference.
regards
steve

dobryden,
Welcome to the DUC
You'll find many ( if not all) users here are geared toward PT. Yes,,this is the PT users conference
OK, "is it true that pro tools is geared towards people like myself??" Not really..Pro Tools comes in different hardware configuration and the top of the line HD Accel systems are used by most major professional studios and post production suites.
Cubase has (supposedly) advantages in the Midi department. It will also require an audio to computer interface.
M-box on the other hand is a one box solution, therefore easier to configure, cheaper to purchase and IMHO much easier to use.
For a singer/songwriter it's a no brainer. There are many such home based users on this forum.
The only thing I would look out for is the compatibility of your computer !
check here first >>

BTW, where is your user name come from ? Has a slavic ring to it

best of luck...
