Selection goes away when playback is stopped

Hey - I have a quick question... When I make a selection for editing with the selector tool, play it, and press stop - the selection goes away.

Is there a way to make a selection, press play, and then when I stop playback, have the selection still intact?

do you have "Timeline Insertion Follows Playback" selected in the prefs? if so, toggle it off and see if that doeans't fix it.

Oops - yeah... I guess that I didnt see the correlation between having that on and my problem

if you are in command focus mode on the edit window, pressing 'n' will
toggle this preference. Easy to hit by accident.
