A Chassis Question...

I'm using a G4 Dual 1gig Quicksilver with a Magma 7 Slot Expansion Chassis also. I don't have the serial number before right now but it is a 32bit chassis with the older flat cable versus the newer round cable. I have the following installed in slot numbers listed below and all is well:

1) HD Core
2) HD Accel
3) HD Process
4) HD Process
5) HD Process
6) ATTO UL3D SCSI Card with three 10,000 RPM Segate Cheetah Drives
7) ATA 133 Card with 2 400gig ATA 133 Segate drives for backup and sample storage.
As you can see, my chassis is "stuffed"!

1.5gb Ram, Pro Tools 7.1cs4, Logic 7.1 mainly for older native projects I've done and using its virtual instruments when developing tracks before taking them to Pro Tools.

I don't want to assume anything... I'm trying to stay on PT 6.9 with OS 10.3.9, were you using your setup on pre-V7 with stability as well?

Hi Proxy,
Yes I was using PT 6.9 with OS 10.3.9 and all was stable and fine. I upgraded to PT 7 to take advantage of the dual processor support for my RTAS software instruments. I'm actually thinking about Carbon Cloning my current system and installing PT 7.2 on a new drive and see how it works on my Dual 1gig Quicksilver

Hi,

I am wondering about upgrading my HD3 Accel rig with a Digidesign Expansion|HD 6 Slot Expansion Chassis.

But I understand from the Digisite and the Expanded Systems Guide that there is a slight decrease in the number of instances of certain RTAS plug-ins. Are some you users willing to explain which RTAS plugins they are referring to and your experience about this?

It is also said that there is an increase in the monitoring latency of RTAS virtual instruments. This is seemingly most apparent when playing instruments in real time and is said to be compensated for upon playback. Is the Automatic Delay Compensation workable as mentioned in the Expanded Systems Guide?
