Anyone using the firewire exabyte drives?
Anyone using any of these drives? I'm using all my PCI slots for digidesign stuff, and am looking for a workable firewire-based backup solution.
thanks, Peter Scherr |

Re: Anyone using the firewire exabyte drives?
I use an UW SCSI DDS4 tape drive via a firewire to scsi convertor. I'm getting the same speeds I was getting when I was using a UW scsi card.
The unit I have is a belkin adapter but I think other companies make them too. That might be something to consider. Although, I did work at a place that used the Erix machines - they were good, although the tapes were very expensive and for most jobs never got completely filled. |
