Default How to edit the instrument dropdown?

I have instrument plugins that I uninstalled but still show up when I choose to add instrument to a instrument track. This causes PT to lock up and I have to reboot my computer. Very annoying...
Is there a way to delete these items from the drop down list that appears when choosing a instrument plugin?

Go into Avid prefs in your home folder prefs & trash installed plugins.

No, it's ample sound guitar plugins. Upgraded to ver 2 but the uninstaller left the ver 1 info. PT locks up if I accidentally choose one of those...

Hi, thanks for the tip but... could you be more specific? I can't find a folder named prefs & trash, What am I not getting?

You can use search to locate the "DAE Prefs" folder or click your way there.

Go to Windows starts menu:

Click Computer>Local Disk>Program Files (x86)>Avid>Pro Tools>DAE>DAE Prefs> You will see installed plugins file there (which I guess you can delete as he said).
Should create a new file next startup scan.

The easiest way to trash prefs and databases in Windows is to get the free Trasher utility written by one of our own members here. Also make sure the .aax plugin was deleted from the Avid/audio/plugins folder.
