Default Expansion HD & Logic

I'm told by someone who has recently bought a new G5 and Expansion HD chassis- i.e. PCIe G5, PCIx Expansion HD/PT cards and Logic 7 -that Logic will not support sample rates >48KHz in this configuration. Apparently this has been confirmed by Apple as well as by his own tests.

Does anyone know if this is also true of a PCIe/PCIe system? Or if Digi/Apple have any plans to reslove this?

We run Logic fine at all sample rates with a PCIx/PCIx system so it seems strange that a step backward has been taken with the newer technology.
