Ok. I think your trying to help...? All I want to know is has anyone heard avid say it won't work. It's not released so nothing else matters yet.

Avid only comments on the hardware combinations they test. Everything else is "unsupported".

That said;

Protools itself is not very heavy on the hardware. Back then (was it 2002ish when PT6 came out) I ran PT with a laptop that had 667MHz processor and a whopping 512MB memory. Used to record 12-16 tracks to the internal hard drive. But when I loaded the session with plugins, the system went nuts.

Just a story about an unsupported system which may work or not.

No, and Core2 Duo based Mac Mini systems seem to be listed as approved configs which should give confidence there is nothing specifically broken on the processor side.
