Default A question re. copying the plugins folder.

I am moving from a G5 to a Mac Pro this next month. I will do a clean install of everthing I can. My question is, can I copy my plugins folder over to the new machine and save my self some time downloading and installing?

Also, what is the best way to copy over plugins settings (like all the custom patches I've made for Eleven and other VIs)?

Thank you and Happy Holidays,
Mark

you will probably need to update to newer version

copying the settings folder then dropping them in the new on should be fine

Mark,

I was going to suggest a method to simplify things, then thought about it -- and deleted my post --

You have a PERFECT opportunity to start fresh, and test as you go.

I would get new installers for everything. Plug installers often have help or preset files and not having to move them all over the place is the sure thing.

Congrats on your upgrade.

I just copied my setting folder to a flash drive and import individually as required.
