Default Question about AAX Hybrid and Voice Consumption

I've been wondering this since reading what's been posted about AAX 'Hybrid' plugins: Will using native plugins in ProTools 11 HDX still consume an extra voice per channel? If HDX can access native plugin processing without using extra voices, I'm sold.

Any info on this?

Default Re: Question about AAX Hybrid and Voice Consumption

It's the same like it was with TDM. Inserting a native plugin after a DSP plugin will require an additional voice.
If you insert a native plugin after a TDM/DSP plugin, this means the signal travels from computer to DSP to computer to playback. One voice to send and then return, and then another to play back.
