Default First Time Comping...

Hey there.

I'm going to attempt to comp some vocal takes this week.

I can't seem to find in the manual where it tells you how to move audio tracks for comping - here's what I'd like to do:

I have a few separate vocal tracks.

I'd like to slide one section from track 2 - exactly into the same spot into track 1.

How do I make sure the selected clip (from track 2) goes exactly into the same time start location (in track 1) as from which it came from in track 2?

Thanks,

Sparky1

The Control modifier restricts vertical movement (actually it snaps the region to the timeline).

I suggest you place the destination track above your source tracks -- you can then simply select a phrase in your source track, Command+C, shift+click in the destination track and paste (Command+V).

You simply drag tracks by their track names to change thir order.

Check out "Spotting a Region" in Chapter 17 of the Pro Tools Reference Guide.

Excellent - thanks Rail Jon Rogut & RadioMoo!

And I'm on my way to read that section of the manual.
