Well, I updated, and now Protools doesn't work. I should have taken my own best advice to not upgraded until I know everything is stable.

The FAQ say you now have to WUP to get bug fixes and to stay compatible with OS's going forward even if you are not upgrading or buying new plugins. Before version 10 even if you didn't WUP you still got bug fixes and compatibility fixes of you current plugins. I think it's another way of bringing in more revenue. You can tell by the constant lowering of the prices on there plugins that plugin sales must be low. I remember years ago you would never see some of these plugins for $29.

Yea I could have sworn 10 years ago the Platinum bundle was in the ~$2000 range. at least $1500, whatever it was it was costly. And just a couple months ago I got the Diamond bundle which is a step up in their world from Platinum for only $450. Seeing how they are selling more plugins within the bundles and at lower prices it sure seems like competition has made them be more cost competitive

Does this mean any plugins purchased from Waves (not new ones but currently existing ones) will be V10? Say I purchase King's Microphones - V10 or V9?

Oh, well that is kind of a significant change. I upgraded to Horizon anyway LOL. I am a sucker I guess. No problems with my existing projects with V10.

Only new purchases or WUP will be V10. So if you buy new ones the old ones will still be V9. The only way to bring the current V9 to 10 is to WUP or upgrade.

I have never had problems with Waves plugins and compatibility. They just keep on working with New or old systems. The only issue has been the installers.

I know the only way to go to V10 is to WUP and I'm not looking to get V10 for any reason. I'm more concerned if I buy an existing Waves plugin ( that I don't have) that it will be V10 which I can't use because I'm staying on Yosemite and not going to El Crapitan because I'm on PT11.3.2. If that's the deal then no more Waves plugins for me.
