Default PT 12.4 track limit?

I put a similar post in the PT 11 section when I was still on v 11.3.2 and never received a response.

I'm using 12.4 and am familiar with the track limits as noted in the manual. I'm working in a 44.1 sample rate.

I've got a session with the following:

12 instrument tracks
36 audio tracks
59 aux tracks
1 master fader

108 total

27 tracks are inactive and hidden.

I wanted to create four new aux tracks. The system let me set these up and do the routing, etc. But when I hit play those four disappear from the edit and mix windows. (And the black dot to the left of them in the track list blinks to off.)

Aren't I well within the track limits?

System , OS, and interface dependent. There is a link to the "map" :http://www.avid.com/pro-tools/comparison

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I have seen that and believe I meet all the requirements for system and OS.

Operating System
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.20GHz
RAM
24.0GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24)

PT is installed on my Samsung 240 Pro SSD boot drive (512 GB)

Session files are stored on a dedicated Samsung 250 Pro SSD (256 GB).

For interface, I'm using an MBox3 and that's the first one listed under supported hardware.

The very strange aspect of this behavior is that it only started when I upgraded to v 11.3 (I had 11.0) and then continued when I upgraded to 12.4.

I use templates extensively that have lots of inactive/hidden tracks that I may or may not use in any given project. I'm certain I have projects where I
had (and used) a higher number of tracks.

I thought the problem had gone away, but it has not. I have since narrowed it down to selecting any memory location. As soon as I do that, the newest 4 aux tracks disappear.

Deleting then recreating the markers eliminated this issue.
