Will PC2700 memory work in PC2100 memory slot?

I wanted to move some RAM from a motherboard using PC2700 to a system that uses PC2100. In the old days I remember PC133 was backwards compatible with PC100 and I wasn't sure if the same is true for PC2700?

That should work.

Allthought for best performance u should use the same memory sticks. If the first is pc2100, the second and third should be pc2100 as well. According to the instruction manual from my ASUS MB..

Thanks ikke! Yeah I'm going to be replacing two 128MB with two 512MB, so they will be identical sticks!
