Default Automating Solos?

Is there a way to automate the solo button. I had never noticed it before, but i was automating recently and tried to solo a particular track and noticed on playback the solo automation wasn't recorded. Is this not possible or do i have something set incorrectly? I know the automation works on mutes.

Good question.
I think there is no way.
I would select all and automate the mutes all the tracks I want to be "un-soloed".

True, true. Automate the Mute on ONE track, change the view of ALL tracks to Mute automation (holding down Option key while changing any one of them), then copy the 1st track's Mute automation, paste it into the others (except that one track you want "soloed").

Just curious, since it seems like a fairly unusual requirement: what's your situation where the need to automate Solos is so frequent, & so much more inconvenient than a) automating Mutes on other tracks; or b) using Volume automation on the other tracks (e.g., in Vol. data display format, select the range to be "muted", & use the Trimmer to whack it down to 0)? ---Myself, I tend to prefer the vol. automation approach; when I have noisy tracks (nat sound, noisy rooms on vocals, gtr/bass amps/preamps) I like the option (if I take the time) to have the track volume quickly ramp down to zero, rather than just click off/on via a Mute button - sounds more natural to me.---
