Just as a follow up, The ST LE Sonic Synth combo does not allow for converting Akai sample banks.

Heritage,

Oh the Mach 5 isn't even out yet! Darn it! I need to get something this week.

Thanks, Chris

Thanks for all your replies and opinions! I ordered Sampletank L ($199 from audiomidi.com) and it will be here tomorrow.

Of course, Mach 5 is now shipping -the next day after I already ordered Sampletank. Well, Motu took soooooooo long they lost a sale here!

I needed something THIS week for RTAS for good string, piano and congas. From the sound of the samples on IK's site it should do just fine. It'll be nice to get the Sampletank 2 upgrade for free (at least the interface) -CD-sounds are extra I believe.

Thanks again all!

Genuinely, Chris

I'm tracking FED EX driving my Mach5 from Sweetwater to Nashville (it left Ft. Wayne at 1:00 this morning). I'll post as soon as I get it loaded with whatever I find (e.g. what makes up the 4GB of samples that ship with Mach5).

Given that I've never touched a sampler before, don't hold your breath for an indepth review, but I'll share what I can.
