pt10+cptk to PT11HD tax break

Hey everyone. I have pt10+cptk. I want to upgrade to PT11HD. Question. Can I purchase PTHD10 to PTHD11 from a different website and save on the 55.00 tax that Avid is charging or am I up a creek? In other words, will the license card work, or will it LOOK for PTHD10 on my iLok?

With the 55.00 tax Avid is charging, it's costing me almost 700.00!!!

I just ain't got it. But if I have no other choice, then I guess that's what I'll have to do.

Any advice would be great.

You might be able to get it through Sweetwater. I would call them and check.

Good idea^^^ MAP pricing is just that(Minimum Advertised Pricing). A phone call or a "face to face" will often get a better deal I don't remember the last time I paid the MAP price for something(except for the $299 I spent on a Lindell Audio lunchbox compressor)

Most upgrades you can get through dealers, but since this is a special upgrade, I didn't know if it was only available through Avid. If Sweetwater can't do it, then I don't think any other dealers can do it either.

If you have PT10 and CPTK in your ilok account, you need to buy the CPTK + PT10 to PT11HD upgrade. It's the same price, but not the same thing as the PT10HD to PT11HD upgrade. Each one is a different product, that looks for different ilok licenses to surrender.

And it was definitely declared somewhere in the main CPTK to HD upgrade thread that the upgrade is only available directly from Avid, so I don't hold out much hope of you getting it through a dealer.

I haven't seen any dealers advertising PT+CPTK to PT11HD upgrades, but I can't say I've checked out every dealer.
