Default USB Midi Controller Setup

I'm having trouble getting Pro Tools to read my Midiman 49 Keystation to control VSTs...

I've had and fixed this problem many times before but for some reason can't remember how.

I have the VST (lets say Xpand!) on an insert on a stereo instrument track which is record enabled.

Input of the midi is set to all and output is set to Xpand! channel 1

Midi thru is checked...

Is there anything else I'm missing? I would assume that I need to download a driver for the keyboard but I've used the keyboard before successfully and I haven't upgraded Pro Tools...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I trashed the preferences files and restarted, I downloaded the most recent driver I could find... Nothing...

Mac or PC? Pro Tools version? OS version?

Which driver did you download and install, exactly?

Mac OSX 10.5.6, Pro Tools 8.0.

The driver I installed was "MIDI USB OSX 3.2.3.dmg"

I gave up on this problem and just chalked it up to the keyboard being out of date and bought an axiom. But I'm still curious as to whether this issue can be resolved or not.

Thanks

I would try the MIDI related preference trashing in the General Troubleshooting thread (it's in one of the replies).

If that doesn't do it, try the 3.4.0 driver:
