No need imho, the fun of 808s is to pitch the whole sample, preferably with a built-in pitch control like the one in Boom! However Torque it's still worth getting, it might sound artificial while sweeping to find the frequency but once the arm is static I can't tell if the track has been pitched at all.

Well yeah, you could pitch the whole sample, but there’s some more fun to be had trying something new and coming up with different techniques.

I read in ken scott's book about how they got the tom sound on one of supertramps tracks by varispeeding the tape while he was playing. I have Torque and while I haven't done exactly that, I have found using automation I can get some cool effects like that(a lot easier) as well as just fixing toms and kix pitch to fit better with a song/mix/bass

I thought about picking that up too. I already have Ozone 8 Advanced though, I hate buying plugins that just sit around...but this does look pretty nice.

That is indeed true. I will say though, it is a different beast to Ozone.

Ozone is very well equiped for most situations and it's quite flexible. The TG Master isn't as flexible, but its high and vibe and will be good for alot of things, not just everything.

There's nothing saying someone couldn't use the best of both. That's how I would approach it.

Not that I'm telling you to rush out and buy it.

I actually bought it later that day haha

I did a live 2hr video with it using it for the first time and mastered a few songs, I really like it. TG is worth it at this intro price.
