2 issues in pt9 allocating space

Using Pro Tools 9 latest ver
using Focusrite DSP24 pro

1st error cant allocate space for recording yes preferences are set to allow open
recording and yes drive is not full yes R R are set in the workspace
Sometimes if I add a track or switch to another track it will allow me to record
but it don't work all the time.
Second error when I hit record it wont record its like I just hit play This is extremely annoying having stop and hit record sometimes up to six times before it will actually record
I am working on 3 serious projects and this is slowing me down big time
