If you are feeling particularly peeved about it click this link: https://harrisonconsolesstore.onfast...d=%5BUNIQID%5D

And use this voucher code to buy Harrison Mixbus for $19.00 - CYBERMON18

Imagine buying ten complete DAW applications for the price Avid charges to climb back on the support plan. What an age we live in!
Nailed it!

Also to pile on... Office 365 for my family which includes the FULL office suite <Read: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc...> for 5 family members on all devices, and 1TB of storage per person. All for the magic price of 99.00 per YEAR.

Really the magic price for PT Vanilla Subscription is somewhere between 9.99 and 14.95 per month @ a sustained model. Not the AVID one of doubling the cost after they falsely believe they have us trapped. And BTW that STILL won’t get me to part with my permanent license... I don’t trust them. That ship has sailed. BUT I would be very tempted to sign up at that price to get the plugins and heat. Sorry AVID but you have obviously lost any goodwill.

D
Purchased, installed, made my way through the preferences menu and scanning plugins now. Even if I hate it (not likely), it was $19.00.

Just checking in since I saw the new pricing...

I have 2 years of $99 renewals still banked from when they were phasing out the $99 renewal. Truth is - for multiple reasons (thanks Apogee) been using Logic for close to a year now. Have S1 too and use it sometimes. I actually haven't used PT in more than a year (and it was my only DAW from V4 till then). Might be selling those renewals next year

Peace and Happy Thanksgiving to all - DUC is still an amazing group!

Hi Guys,

I have been with Digidesign (now Avid) since 1987. At that time the only option was to buy"soundtools"(2 tracks only). Then Pro-tools 4 tracks came out, you could buy a few of them and build a bigger system. Digidesign was my primary reason to buy a plane ticket and go to the AES convention to see Digidesign booth and know more about this great company.

I never had any problem to pay $1000.00 for an upgrade because it was my choice to do so. Now things are different, you are force to upgrade all of your systems even if you don't need to and this piss me off. Avid has to understand that both parties have to be confortable to establish a good business relation or else this relation will break.

I spent many hours reading and sharing posts in this nice community, it used to be my favorite moment of the day. But the truth is in the last two years I don't read this forum very often, because Avid isn't the same company it use to be.

We have several HD (ultimate) systems but we will just stop upgrading the vanilla systems this year. We will also stop uggrading some of our HD systems if we are forced to do so every year.

We will never switch to the subscription model. I hope Avid realize what they are doing before it's too late.

My story...

I used to own Pro Tools, all the way until 7 or 8, then, due to a job I had, I had NFR versions. Last year I had to get a yearly subscription, but I got it on sale for about 19.99 per month...now it looks like it’s gone up, so, I think I am jumping off as I was given PreSonus S1 4, so I’d own the program.

Are there any option I haven’t thought of, or is this where I check out? I have enjoyed PT, but right now, unless I’m missing something, it’s 29.99 per month, although there’s a sale right now, but I don’t think 24.99 monthly excites me.

Thanks for your thoughts or guidance....

Mark

I say jump. I've been on Studio One 4 for almost a year now. It took me a few weeks to get comfortable with it, but it does everything I need. And it's done and paid for. No monthly payment. No annual payment. If I feel I need version 5.x whenever they release it, that's when I pay next. If I want to. No penalty.
