Default ER Acoustic Song....

Augh..... I just had to.... It had to be done... And as long as I'm here i may as well contribute right?

Ok, Its very rough... I recorded all of the acoustic tracks with a Audio Technica AT2020 into ER, Amps bypassed, A tad bit of ER reveb. Bass is none other that Blue line No cab, A little comp and PEQ. Forgive my very crappy solo (Recorded with AT3, Not ER) and the drums. They are a live (albeit not so good drummer that hooked me up with the track with very little rehearsal) and i mixed in about 40 minutes, nothing too serious....

Thanks for listening and enjoy.

I haven't messed with mics into the 11R as I have a 003 but have been meaning to plug in my Chet Atkins and Hummingbird and work up some acoustic patches.

Kinda liked the solo tone

Thanks Guys! Its an Ibanez acoustic electric, one of the Koa Models, They only run about $400.. Its really the only acoustic guitar i have ever picked up and played and liked right from the start, It has a really low action and just sounds fantastic for a slim acoustic. As for the solo, I have a hard time writing them, It seems like when i jam by myself i love the stuff i play but when i record something i have a really hard time connecting the dots... The solo on one of the songs on my soundlick called "Made of Stone" was 300 takes, Not lying, It was over 2 months of coming home from work and recording the solo over and over, Its still not perfect when i listen to it but whatever, We have to settle sometime right?

Funny thing though, when my now defunct band released the album that "Made of Stone" Is on we ended up getting way more compliments on the guitars than anything else... Maybe it's because the guitar player recorded it???

I agree Wholeheartedly

I have never liked acoustics... Ever... I associate it with crappy hippy guitarists that like to woo chicks with their favorite Dave Matthews covers or the occasional Jack Johnson song, Augh... I cant stand folk music for some reason. It drives me completely insane. I do, however pick up this acoustic from time to time and rattle off some lines, Like "3 Libras" from A Perfect Circle, Or as i was earlier, "Life by the drop" from SRV. Im a terrible singer but my girl likes it when i sing her that SRV song. The first time, she cried.

She is just too sweet!

If she cried it was probably good. Unless she jumped off the balcony when you were finished

I will always associate acoustics with bonfires and good times. It is however a bit more intimate when you can just sit down and play with out an amp.

Side note. Albee suggested the AT condensers to me a year ago and I snagged a pair of AT 3035's and a AT 3031 for hats. For the money these are great sounding mics. The miced acoustic sounded pretty good to me also.

I have 2 at2020s and an at2021. They are super cheap and sound downright awesome. I use them on overheads religiously. They always sound good. Best bang for the buck mics out there!

As far as balcony jumping, not over the singing but maybe if I paid for an axefx instead of the eleven rack
