Unhappy Playback gets lost or distorted while recording - Pro Tools 8/M-Audio Profire 2626

I bought new computer, Pro Tools 8 m-powered and M-Audio Profire 2626 while ago. I'm running them on Windows Vista SP1.

First I did the Vista optimization by Audio Forums guide. I installed the newest audiodriver and Pro Tools as recommended
on the manual.

THE PROBLEM: All audio gets lost or distorted suddenly during recording.
All the meters are moving and there are no error messages or anything, just
no playback. I can only hear my input well if i use Mixer out -option in Profire 2626 control panel.
I can't get the playback back unless I shutdown and restart Pro Tools. After doing this
I can listen what I recorded and they seem to sound good (no distortion etc.).
I have tried to change HW buffer levels and all that. I can
get cracks etc. away with these options but not the real no playback problem.

Problem occurs even when there's is not a single plug-in in use. Only audio tracks (19 of them).

I have tried integrated FW port, and Pinnacle DV500 and Pinnacle Studio DV (currently installed)
FW cards which both include Texas Instruments chip. All so i have tried the cards in different
PCI places (my computer has 2 of them). IRQ number is 16, it wont change smaller when swiching.

WHAT I HAVE TRIED:
No additional Plug-ins installed.
I'm using secondary hard drive for recording and playback.
I have done Windows Vista Optimizations as said in Digidesign website.
Quicktime is installed.
I have tried to delete DAE and Pro Tools preference files several times.
I have updated Pro Tools to CS3 version.
I created a new administrator account and it didn't solve the problem.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for M-Audio hardware.
I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall Pro Tools.
I have tried to format my hard drives and reinstall Vista.
There are no extraneous hardware connected to PC (except for Profire 2626 and Ilok).
I have tried to connect Profire 2626 to different Firewire ports in my firewire card and also tried to move the firewire card to another PCI slot. No effect.
I couldn't use Pro Tools Tech Support Folder since there's was only files for Mac.
I also tried to my old sequencer program Sonar 7 and it's working fine.

TECHNICAL SPECS:
M-Audio Profire 2626
Pro Tools M-Powered (with CS3 update)

PC: AMILO® Desktop Pi 3630-22P
Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1
NVIDIA nForce 630i Motherboard, chipset ?
4gt RAM
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz 2.34GHz
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500620AS, 500gt Hard drive(x2)
Pinnacle Studio DV FW Card with Texas Instruments Chip

I have Sandra report but I don't know how to attach it here.

Hopefully I get this problem solved very soon.

No problem. You probably tried this, but have you ruled out your speakers and the connections from them to the 2626? Every now and then I look over insanely simple things like that when dealing with tech problems.

Yes. Problem occurs also when listening headphones which are directly connected to 2626.

Without a Sandra report (as requested in the Help Us Help You sticky..) it's difficult to say for sure, but it looks like, given the info below, that you have an incompatible configuration - Intel processors must be used with Intel chipset motherboards. Yours appears to have an NVidia chipset:

Quote:
NVIDIA nForce 630i Motherboard, chipset ?
4gt RAM
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz 2.34GHz
You should generate and post a Sandra report, just to be sure. Going through the other troubleshooting steps in that sticky may also help.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this computer is unlikely to work, as it has an incompatible processor/chipset combination.

As I mentioned above, systems with an Intel processor must have a compatible Intel chipset on the motherboard. You can find more info on compatibility here:

That's sad news. Need to use Sonar then.
