Except that if you wanted to simply export a song you can't, so you're waiting longer to get the file, that's the only annoyance, but yeah, i'll save some money and use the Itunes converter even though i don't like Itunes with a passion.

You could get a Wave to MP3 converter.
I bet there are more than a couple of freewares out there

I have always converted outside of PT and I have had the option for years.

i just bounce to wav. and then convert in free AUDACITY program.

Well I finally used my MP3 option today after having it for years. Actually, it took more time after editing and doing a little peak limiting and cleaning up the head and tail than just converting it in Sound Forge. So I probably just don't get the attraction to this option. But at least I can say I've done it now.

Yeah but how do you save all your inserts, aux sends, and special effects added in pro tools when you bounce it with other software? Wont the inserts be lost once you take the .wav file out of pro tools software? And can you merge several audio files say drums, guitar, vocals...etc into one mp3 file using other software?
