Default Software Component Unavailable

Hey yall,

Iv been using pro tools for a number of months, and just recently I decided to find some new plugins. I installed some of them, and then I trued to open pro tools to see how they worked. That's when I received a message saying (and I quote) "Software Component Unavailable".

I also installed Dante Virtual Soundcard

Having followed all the avid prompts, downloaded every piece of diagnostic software and older drivers, and every thing else that The ilok page suggested, I now in desperation turn to you.

Just to specify, I CANNOT OPEN PROTOOLS, AT all !!!!

CAN YOU HELP ME???????

I see you're on Windows 10. See if this helps-

"Out of nowhere, some users report, when launching PLAY and other iLok-based software, they get this message:

”Software Component Unavailable
A background component required for iLok License Manager seems to be unavailable. If rebooting does not fix this issue, please visit iLok.com and download and run the latest License Support installer."

Solution:

To check for this problem go to Administrative Tools/Services/ and see if "Pace License Services" status is "running" and, if not, start it up. That's it."

Here is the solution that worked for me.
Apparently for some reason Pace is using Bonjour for License Manager.
So first in the Services Panel start Bonjour Service (if it's disabled) then PACE License Services and should work fine.
If you don't have Bonjour, instal the latest iTunes version
