Default Comparison chart of HDX and HD Native?

Sorry for the dumb question, but I honestly can't find what I'm looking for on the Avid site.

Is there a chart somewhere that compares the main differences between HDX and HD-Native systems?

Like many, I'm debating making a move to one or the other, but I can't find any such comparison info, although I'm sure it exists.

Thanks in advance for any info you have...

This is the only chart that I'm aware of comparing systems, but it doesn't compare HD Native and HDX specifically: http://www.avid.com/US/products/fami...s/Pro-Tools-HD

Here's another one comparing HDX to HD Accel: http://www.avid.com/US/products/Pro-...specifications

You'll have to click on the compare tab when you get to the page, and that goes for my previous post as well.

Thanks, Drumster. Yes, I've seen those two but thought I had previously seen one that directly compared PT10, PT10HDN and PT10HDX.

I suppose I could be straight trippin'.

Thanks!

Software features on both are identical. And if you're comparing 1 HD Native card and 1 HDX card, you would have the same number of voices (256) and the same number of maximum I/O (64). But with HDX, you can add more cards and get more voices (up to 768) and more I/O (up to 256).

This is, of course, besides the most obvious difference of HDX having DSP on the cards to handle tracking, mixing, and plugins, in addition to whatever the computer can handle.

Something confusing to me about these numbers. A single HDX card has 64 I/O, right? There's a max possible as I understand it to have 3 of the HDX cards in a system. So that would be 3 cards with 64 I/O each for 192 I/O. How then does the 256 I/O (as if anyone would need that much) happen with 3 cards?

I agree, this makes no sense, but that's what the specs say. I don't see how it's possible, unless Avid is giving a hint that there will eventually be support for more than 3 cards. But they still list the max voice count at 768. I suppose it's possible that the software will still max out at the 768 voices, but more cards will simply add more I/O and more DSP.

Or it could just be a typographical error. They've certainly done that before.

Their plans is to be able to have 4 cards system. But unannounced, while someone made a mistake and announced that with the number of I/O .. In truth I don't know, I'm guessing.
