i'd like to see if i could help with this one...if possible. if you have a dump file in your c:\windows\minidump folder pls feel free to send it to me. i'll see what the debugger shows. that way we might get some insight into what your issue is and it might shed some light as we move forward with W7

i have two, and they are the only two in there. Possibly because they have been the only two BSODs i've had with Windows 7 since i installed it. Where should i send them? And may i as how you go about viewing them?

has anyone found a reliable way to make a backup image/clone of a system drive running windows 7 64-bit? i have ghost 10, but that doesn't support this OS or 64-bit i think, and acronis true image doesn't seem to either. i saw that the new version of ghost should work, but that function isn't operational in the free demo they offer. has anyone used it successfully? i'd like to clone my drive before something goes wrong! :)

Well, stuff's going wrong! I found that when I change my buffer size (from to 128 from 512 and sometimes to 1024 - it's not consistent, but it happens when changing the buffer sometimes), PT crashes with:

"Pro Tools is unable to reacquire the hardware because it is in use by another application. Please quite other applications and hit "OK" to retry. If the hardware cannot be acquired, please quit and relaunch Pro Tools"

I hit ok, and then it throws "DAE error -1115 was encountered.", and takes out windows with it. It blue screens. Then when I reboot, I find that PT has forgotten its recently used sessions. Luckily it doesn't seem to corrupt the sessions, but it's really annoying.

Also, I am finding that while I can record at a 128 buffer, it's doing so with lots of little digital clicks & pops in the audio. That's not good.

I switched back to vista home premium 64-bit for a bit to see if it fixed the clicks issue, but experienced the crash on changing buffer size and the clicks at 128 and 256 buffer size there as well.

Has anyone else seen these issues?

I've just installed RC build 7100 x64, PT8 CS2, CPT on my Phenom II machine with Mbox2 Pro and it seems to be working (legacy fw driver)...
