Default Thunderbolt to FW adaptors

So can I buy a new powerbook, which is Thunderbolt3 and use a coverter to get to thunderbolt then another converter to get to FW800 then another converter to get to FW400 so I can virtual soundcheck out of a SC48? :)

Default Thunderbolt to FW adaptors

Powerbooks stopped being made many years ago. I hope mean the current MacBook *Pro* with USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 (not a current Macbook which is USB-C but not Thunderbolt).

But yes with a current model MacBook Pro you go through those multiple adapter dongles if needed. Use Apple ones (except for the last FW 800 to 400 which they don't make). Multiple vendors make Thunderbolt docks with Firewire 800 ports on them. And that should be another option.... especially if you want the dock for other reasons.

That was the computer I meant :)

Thanks for the response. I will check into getting a dock. That seems like the best way to go.
