Default Re: Strange "Assertion" error causing Pro Tools to quit unexpectedly...????

I have that very same error, here´s my description from my own thread:

"Hi there,

I have a severe problem with my ProTools 10. I´ve been working this session for quiet some time and everything used to work perfectly. Now I´ve been getting the attached error message when starting playback of a highlighted playlist clip. I can´t do anything in ProTools from then on. I can only manually shut it down by using the task manager. the problem occurs again after restarting.

here´s a picture of the error: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...03um133729.png

written out it sais: Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/ws.Ludwig/Altura Ports/PT4_App/Macbuild/../../NewFileLibs/Time/Time_TypedBase.h", line 140

The last number changes every time I get the error. When I click ok it just pops back up.

I have deleted the pro tools databases and tried to delete the digidesign files in the preferences folder, unfortunately there were no digidesign files in there though
.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

My system:
Focusrite Saffire Pro 40
Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2010
8GB 1067MHz DDR3 ram, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Mac OS X 10.6.8.
ProTools 10.1.2
Western Digital Mybook studio 2TB Firewire 800
Buffalo Drive Station 500gb Firewire 800 "

I was wrong! stvbn, you were absolutely right to look to the elastic audio plug-in. I was confusing the timebase selector with the elastic audio plug-in.

As it turns out, regardless of the timebase selection setting, the assertion error occurs in the manner I previously described only while elastic audio is enabled on the track. If the elastic audio plugin is set to "NONE - Disable Elastic Audio", the error does not happen.

An Avid support tech was able to replicate it on his end, and it looks like it's a bug in PT10.

I found a solution!! It has something to do with either the cached wave files or the elastic audio or both.

What you do is:
Exit out of pro tools
Go to the session folder belonging to the problematic session.
DELETE "WaveCache.wfm"
Re Open pro tools/ session and let it re draw the waveforms.
THEN disable elastic audio OR enable and disable.

Simply deleting the wave cache didn't help until i turned elastic audio ON once it re-renders all the audio files in the playlists you can turn it back off.
