Default PT9 CPU and system errors

I've been working with Pro Tools since 'version 5' and I've manage to establish some pretty stable machines. I'm currently using a Macbook pro unibody 2.4 GHz with 2GB RAM ... is this not enough? I receive the errors even after I start up using a 'low CPU' template (before adding anything - just playing the xpander plug). It will 'crash' 4-5 times (hit okay, restart, etc.) before playing for a bit. Do I need to add 2-4 GB of RAM in order to work? I'm curious if anyone has it running well on the macbook pro unibody.

Thanks all

quick reply request: when looking at the compatibility grid for PT9: Bomb factory plugs are only compatible UP TO PT 8??? Thus, DO NOT USE in PT9?

I appreciate your clarification!

Thx

Now usually these things don't work. I followed a posted link to optimizing mac systems for pro tools 9 and now it seems to work much better. Key things I did was a fresh install on a newly created account JUST for Pro tools (and other audio bits). I'm not getting the crash, or hang ups on the same songs that were doing it previously.

Thanks guys!

here's the key link again:
