Default HD Native Thunderbolt w/ Thunderbolt 3

I am looking to upgrade to an HD system but my iMac only has Thunderbolt 3 ports, and the HD native only has a Thunderbolt 2 connection. What is the preferred way toconnect the Avid HD Native Thunderbolt interface to a Thunderbolt 3 equipped computer?

Thanks.

Surprisingly... a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. Apple small dongle.

That certainly makes sense, I’m just concerned about latency iasues; perhaps I should have asked if that’s being used successfully.

My specific computer is this one: https://everymac.com/systems/apple/i...017-specs.html

yes, many people are using the Apple adapter with all sorts of interfaces and peripherals. If it had a problem you would hear about it. Latency is not an issue at Thunderbolt/PCIe type speeds.
